Santa's coming to town
Yes, the above said carriage. Lol. And i might just buy myself next year's track-set as my own present. Hahahahha. And the carriage, it's large. That little seat behind there, fits a 12" Barbie, with room to spare. =P
Anyway, I got Jamie a nice white handbag for her birthday. Yes, i know the b-day's next year, but buy early la! Hahaha. Plus it looks good on her, and me - cause i carry it around. And people do stare, but i guess it's out of admiration, who else would have a faux leather 80's styled white tote bag with loud pink "Barbie" written at the side huh? Hahaha.
And, my time in Mattel has drawn to a close. Come new year, i would no longer be with them. It's sad to be leaving a company that you have come to grow really attached to, working with people who genuinely care about you. It's much easier to be attached to all of them, cause it's such a small company to begin with, at least it's small in Malaysia that is.
I'm leaving to sell Char Kuey Teow at some street corner. Hopefully, i would not be sued for food poisoning. And i'll bloody hell do my darnest to survive:)
And to the people of Mattel that i work with, if you are reading this (which i really hope you aren't); i will miss you, and i do appreciate every single moment that i have had with you lovely people. Well...most of the moments are appreciated. =P
And unto this one thing that have been bugging me. You see, i read the other day (or rather a few weeks have gone by since reading it) in the Sun, the editor made a lovely column about animal cruelty, and how being a vegan saved the world. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it's great actually. Just let me share my very narrow and slanted views.
I care for most life forms. But there's one that is pretty much equivalent to those poor chickens that the editor had written in the column. Let's call them "abc" k?
You see, the abc have been around a very long time. They were a free species once, and proud ones at that. They have emotions, and a need for space just like our dear friends, the chickens do. But over the years, the needs and greed of men had driven the abc to the very brink of mass suicide. They were kept in confined spaces, forced to work each and every day to feed the hunger of humanity.
If any one of them were to escape this fate, another abc would be taken in to replace the abc that got away. This species would ensure that we are always fed, contented and satisfied. And like the chickens, we don't really care where the burgers' origins are from. The abc work from day to night, and sometimes all around the clock just for us.
Of course they complain, but who could ever defend them? The offspring of the abc are born in conditions that are sometimes appaling, and even downright more depressing than those cows that we so happily would inseminate. Some of the abc are worked so hard to the ground that they can't have offspring of their own.
Some abcs are forced to do work that pose serious threat to their lives. Some never see the light of day. Everyday, there's bound to be some poor abc that is killed while being worked somewhere around the globe, risking their lives so that we humans can have our comfort.
So if you have time to be a vegan and complain about chickens that can't be kept in small tiny cages, and that organic food is the way to go - do note that these abc are just like us.
They are us. They are the bloody people who the shit jobs for us. They are the ones who scoop up the poop. The ones that sort out your packages. The ones that bang out their keyboard everyday in tiny cubicles. The ones that dig out coal so that you can have your electricity. The men and women who work in places so dangerous that they get all sorts of poisons and contaminats in their systems. They are the people that stay up day and night worrying if we would be safe and in comfort and have enough to eat - even if we are strangers to them.
So if you want to care about the chickens and cows being kept in horrid conditions; i'm right behind you. But first, let me clear out poor hospital conditions, non-existing welfare, world hunger, lack of education and just bloody horrid living conditions of my closest DNA relatives before i move on to a more inter-species scale.
And please, i'm not angry at the world or anything. Everyone has their own cause to fight for. And kudos to them, those who fight for something that they believe in. And if my cause matches yours, then you have an ally. And if it doesn't, then you would have gain at the very least a sympathizer and a supporter.
On the behalf of every living thing on this planet, i would like to thank you for doing your bit for the world. And yes, you can vote for me to be president of earth. ( =
And on the end of that little rant, i now end this post:)
Do have a very Merry Christmas and a lovely New Year!
Cheers people!

The jumping mouse
It's been a while since i last blogged. Ok, it's been ages since i last blogged. And it would seem that having internet access in my house has made me lazier to blog. Lol. I've been busy k? My weekends aren't my own anymore. Which can be quite de-motivating if it weren't filled with so much activities.
Last last weekend i headed to klang for the weekend. Yes, i worked on the weekend. Annoying right? Anyways, went for an exercise called a stock count. And the name practically sums it all - we had to count each and every single item that Mattel has in the warehouse. And trust me - it's not all fun and games. But it was a bit fun though. Here's why.
You see, they dont have proper lifts in the warehouse - ok they do, but there's only one and it moves bloody slow. The improvised lift? It's basically a 4 sided metal cage up to your waist with no bars at one side. Got the picture? And then, imagine that there's a forklift that carries that cage. Got it? Now the cage is secured with this flimsy looking chain wrapped around the forklift's "jaw". Scary enough? You get transported around in that - with a guy from the warehouse in it with you.
If that isn't scary enough - the damned forklift goes up to 30kmph. And it can lift you up to 50 feet in the air. That's about 3 stories high. And when you are 50 feet up in the air, they will move you from one place to another at what it seems to be the speed of light. It's shit scary - especially to a person who is afraid of heights like mua. Hahahaha. And they will lower you enough just not to hit your head on the overhanging bars. =P
That was what i was doing - getting shit scared and having fun - and doing work. Not a bad combo i might add. If only i didn't had to drive back in the rain wishing for my bed all the time, it would have been fantastic:)
And then one week passed. And then came the company trip. The thing was - our bus was stuck in one of those tiny tunnels (which i want to add, has super huge potholes). So they had to take the big way around. Which caused us a whole load of pain and anxiety - there was only one ferry trip in the evening, and we would have missed it.
But lo and behold - bus made it. And in the bus, we played this new toy - Pictionary man. Basically it's a plastic man, a plastic block and a plastic cylinder in which you have to draw on to let your team-mate guess what the word is. And instead of cards, the plastic man has a monochrome screen at the bottom to give you the category and word to draw out. It was hilarious.
At one point - the one that i can really remember. Our Sing colleague had to draw "celebrity - Rolling Stones". She took the cylinder, and started to roll it about. Hahahahaha. So much for drawing i guess.
We went to the resort and made it all in one piece. I had the room overlooking the beach - shared it with a male (mind you) colleague of mine. That nght - went to play pictionary with practically half the bosses in Mattel SEA. And drinking too. When it was my turn to draw i had to do "character - captain kirk". I manage to get my team to guess that i wanted the name of the captain of Star Trek, unfortunately...none of them knew. LOL. Ok fine, i'm a geek.
The next day - treasure hunting. Which was crazy! I was teamed up with the big big boss and my new boss and my namesake boss' assistant and Sing's frontliner. (i know it doesn't make sense). So off we went, running about and all.
At one stage, a few of my colleagues were gathering at this palm/banana tree looking thingie, and a snake fell from one of the leaves. LOL. One guy screamed - like a hysterical psycho. Hahahaha. The bigger psycho was the guy behind them who wanted to get closer to take a photo. =P
Then after treasure hunting - went played volleyball. The rest went to town. Haiyo. Very crazy game this volleyball. I have not played in ages. Jas calls it a girl's game - and she doesn't play (go figure:) Anyway - that caused me a slight sunburn and a whole load of leg pain. Then it was team-building games.
And yes, i did quite a number of embarassing things. First was just a sand-beach version of pictionary. Draw on the sand the sentence and try to guess the words. The second game, ballon passing game sorta. First guy has to pass the balloon to two others without using his arms. Then the two others have to carry the balloon between their backs. And the 4th person had to put the balloon between his legs to get it to the 5th person.
I was the 4th person. And i hopped like an enegizer bunny to get my team points k? Hahahaha.
We got third in this game:)
The last game, had to make sand sculptures, using a person as the base. My big big boss asked me to lie face down and made a turtle out of me. Hahahaha. It was shit funny, cause being the only other male in the team, my big big boss had to urm...sculpt my lower shell/flippers and tail. I have a video of it, but i dare not show anyone. Hahahaha! And i bore three eggs and gave birth to a live turtle. I have no idea how that happened. =P
Then dinner lo. Actually it was our annual dinner. All you can drink beer and all you can eat food. And oh, we had lucky draw as well. One of the bosses would pick names out of a bowl, then we go to this board thingie and peel off this cardboard thing to see what we won.
I won a shuffle:) Hahahahahaha! Ok la, it's not as grand as whatever other prizes that were on the board, but it's the first time i won lucky draw k? :)
Then we had limbo rock competition and this hula hoop looping around team members thingie...i have no idea how to explain it to you guys. And then we went and threw the birthday boy into the pool.
And lo and behold - i got dragged into the pool with the bday boy. Hahaha. My phone, wallet and all died with me k? Damned. Lucky the shuffle didn't go down with mua.
Went and change and went to the lounge, where i took quite a number of scandalous photos. Already took quite a number of scandalous photos during the dinner, but at the lounge...fuiyo. Hahahaha. And also we danced along with this trio from the phillipines whom were performing that night. Great fun.
Then the next day go home lo. Dead tired. I went cut hair before i go home, my hair stylist asked me why got so much stuff - told him went pangkor la etc. Hahahaha. Then go home lo.
The Monday... walk "kangkang"
Licensing sakai called us cowboys.
Kak called us...something i can't recall.
Ms. Supervisor called me...a cicak. Hahahahaha.
Shit. The Monday and Tuesday i got called cicak so many times k? Cause i was still walking funny. =P
And today, my namesake boss came to visit me in my cubicle la. Asked me if my phone can work or not. Then i said no la, it's dead. He asked me to go ambik the company phone:) So nice. So i using company phone now.
Tomorrow got licensing sale!! Licensing is basically non toy products to which we have licensed out various Mattel brands to, such as bags, clothes etc. So..yea. Tomorrow will be like a sakai to go grab some stuff:)
Anyways, Fabes. Miss you lo. That's why you come back la:)
And jas, you're one to talk ar...never update your blog also.
And mei, you put one post, then straight text me to blog. Pandai.
And to whomever who is reading this, so sorry to disappoint, but if you wanna see the pangkor pics, it would have to be a discreet viewing due to the non "umum" nature of the pictures. Plus you have to sign a non-disclosure contract. Hahahaha!
Cheers people!

The times that come with it
And oh, apparently to advertise my company's events i have to ask permission from central first. But i shall just put in a quick mention here because we're already distributing flyers and such - so shall just quote what's in it.
Mattel Mini clearance Sale.
4th floor Menara Lien Hoe,
Persiaran Tropicana Golf Country Resort.
Thursday - 10.00am to 5.00pm
Friday - 10.ooam to 3pm.
Hahahaha. And i shall be the sales promoter for the day. And no, i won't be shadowing your every move and looking over your shoulder - just come and get your stuff. And yes, the goods are much cheaper than what you see in the stores. And no, we aren't competing with the stores, it's like spring cleaning for the new year:) There'll be about 80 different items to be sold, and also loads of Hot Wheels Basic cars (which i plan to buy myself.) Hahahaha. Come k? And bring your family, friends, colleague, janitor, security guards, etc:)
And as for me, things are going great so far, i think. Arrggh - it's super hard to write a post without mentioning work!
Oh, JJ left Hitz.fm today. I'm sad. A lot of people are sad. When you're driving at God forsaken times in the morning, a crazy man with an infectious laugh makes great company. There was this girl who called in today, and she cried. I almost cried. The thing is though, there's have been so many combinations between JJ and other radio DJ's, but he's like the one irreplacable one. So here's to JJ, and good luck in your future endavours.
And if the mornings are limited to Hitz.fm's morning crew, the evenings is occupied by Jules and Prem. The problem is, these days, Fly.fm tend to split these two up. You know what they say about splits, they are messy and ugly. Hahahaha. Now my mornings won't be the same, and my evenings are not any better. I don't know what to do anymore. And Mootz, as great as he is, isn't going to make my morning drives the same.
So that's it from me i guess. The turn of events really makes me quite sad. Oh well.
Have a great weekend you guys! ( =
Cheers!

When the box is empty
Well, today i'm on leave. And what do i do? Go service car. Lol. Hey, getting leave is not easy feat - and doing mundane things is what keeps me sane; yes i know it would have been more fun to be white water rafting or jumping off buildings with little less than a rubber-band around your feet, but for me, it's good enough not to feel adrenaline rushing thru the veins.
And well - now i have realized that coffee with red beans is quite the unexpected lovely mix. Hahahha. I was at this "fusion" something restaurant in Jaya1 la. No i wasn't being vain, just that i wanted french fries, and theirs was the cheapest. Hahahahaha. So sat down, had my fries and... "Akazuki". Yes, it was very vain of them to name it that. But lo and behold - it's kinda nice. The coffee had only an inkling of sugar, so you drink the coffee while chewing the red beans in your mouth. It's quite unexpected - this coming from a person who doesn't really appreciates red beans.
Anyways, Mr. Aussie Big Boss came down during mid week - i had this image in my head about how Mr.Aussie looked like - and it was totally opposite of what i had in mind k? Hahahahaha. At least it was a pleasant suprise la to me. And no heavy Aussie accent - so i could make out what he said - or at least i think i know what he said. ( =
Went to Iketeru in KL Hilton for dinner. The thing was right, since i went first - like 5 mins before the rest of the people, to give the car to Mie, i thought i was late ya know. Hahahahaha. On Jln Bangsar panicking cause the dinner reservation's at 7.15 and i still haven't reached. Lol. The worst part is - when i arrived - there was only my Indirect Boss and Mr Aussie there. Straight panic. Both also i have never spoken more than 30 words to. And that's including the Good mornings and such. Hahahahhaa. Luckily the whole group arrived in like ten mins - i was saved.
I didn't know Kak and Miss Supervisor don't eat raw fish wan. So weird. Actually, i don't eat raw fish also la - but not to say that i will never ever eat it. And call me a poor kid and kampung boy or whichever proverb would suit your tastes, but it's bloody expensive wei. Now i know why companies lose money. Hahahahaha.
Anyway, 6 of us - seperated to two sides facing each other - one side eats raw fish and the other doesn't. ( = Mr. Aussie is a very funny man actually. Anyway, he had this beef tenderloin (i think) teppayanki. So here's the rub, i wanted teppayanki ya know - before i went to the restaurant - but after i saw the prices, my heart dropped. Hahahaha. So ok la, then i decided on something else already, but Indirect Boss already ordered Cod Fish (they all ordered Cod Fish), and had to choose again real quick. So Chicken Teriyaki it is.
I had to change what i wanted to eat because it's the rule of thumb - never order more expensive stuff than what your boss is eating. Hahahaha. Actually it's a rule of thumb that doesn't only apply to bosses la, it applies to every makan-makan that you aren't paying for.
And do you know that Mr. Aussie doesn't know what "heaty" means? Lol. He was so bewildered by it, and apparently quite intrigued.
"Heaty? Is that even a word?".
Well, even after a whole bunch of explanations - he still didn't get it until my Indirect Boss said this
"You know how tea is supposed to be cooling? Well, it's the total opposite when you eat heaty food".
And yes, Mr.Aussie has not had the chance to eat durian before. I do think that we just love shoving this fruit to the faces of our foreign friends - i think it's more out of fun to see their reaction rather than to actually promote the fruit. Or at least that's what i think about it la. :)
Then yea lo, yesterday super busy...from 3.30 to 6.00pm. Hahahaha. I know i have said that i don't have much work to do after 2pm, but the thing was i had to notify the people that i'm on leave, then straight got a whole bunch of stuff to do. Best thing was -
"Richard, you on leave tomorrow ar? Then who will do the work? Wait wait, i faster write this up, then you can process it."
Thank you for the extra work. Hahahahaha. So today no work lo. :)
Ok la, Jas - you are still a sakai for cancelling the house warming, and unfortunately - i don't have leave d. So yea lo. Haish. Faster come back from singgie ar you.
And Fabian? I thought you wanna come back wan? No news also.
And Kumi not coming back d right? Oh well.
Toys R Us all around the country having this dunno what halloween thingie la, Saturday and Sunday - you are all invited. Just...you won't see me around la. Hahahaha. crowds are one thing i do try to avoid:)
Cheers!

The Man Who Lives On A Mountain
You know, today i went to church with a wee bit of doubt in my heart. You see, they have found this Book of Judas, and it would seem that he was the greatest disciple of them all. Sure he's not Peter the Rock or Matthew the merciful, He was Judas the Traitor. So aptly named by the church so many years ago.
Well, anyway, the Book would suggest that Judas was asked by Jesus to betray him - make the ultimate sacrifice to condemn him and his family into oblivion by ratting out the Son of Man to those very bad men at that time. But it is written in the Bible that Judas did it out of greed. So yea, i'm quite shaken. Maybe it's just a hoax that someone radically wrote a couple of thousand of years ago. Who knows.
The thing is though, i don't really care much about the authenticity of these texts - cause i honestly believe in my religion. What i don't give my full heart to is the institution that upholds this religion of mine. Until i went to church today - where i heard the most lovely sermon ever.
Truth is - i had no idea what the sermon was about (a sermon is basically where the priest explains various parts of the Bible to the congregation) - because the sermon that i heard; or rather saw - was in sign language. There was this lady who sign languaged the entire sermon to this deaf person - and you know what? I thought it was the most beautiful thing. Funny how easily hope and faith can be restored huh? ( =
Anyway, week eleven of Mattel. I can leave d after this week. Though there's still three more months to my contract - but what the heck right? Have to move on with stuff. And oh oh. Big Big Boss coming for visit this coming week, and there's a dinner planned as well. Die. Lol. How if i make fun of the strange Aussie accent? Or his diminishing hair - if his hair is diminishing that is. Hahahaha. Ok enough of that.
Actually i dont have much to report this week. Everything went - almost smoothly, as usual. And one thing - i didn't know that Kak and Miss supervisor are so nice to me wan. Hahahaha. Nice to have to "tai kar che" to stand up for you. Thanks. If you ever read this blog that is. =P
Anyhow, i had steamboat with Agi, Thean and Tang yesterday - nice place. Loads of fun. And as usual - Thean has the worst sense of direction
"Richard ar, we go to the largest steamboat restaurant opposite sunway pyramid k? There's only one there."
So i led Agi to the "steamboat street" opposite Sunway pyramid la. Thing is, the one that they talked about was not the largest and is not the only steamboat place in that area. There's at least 5. Hahahahaha. Me and Agi was cursing and cursing. Great fun though. And word to the wise, don't ever order "soya bean soup". First, it's already strange to boil your fishballs in soya, the worst thing is - it tends to "glump" up and turn into some sort of yoghurt kinds paste thing after a while. Hahahahaha. No one touched it - so all had tom yam:)
And no people, i don't go steamboat all th etime - so don't go calling me up asking me to go steamboat. I much rather be eating char kuey teow - less messy and much much less strain on the already very thin wallet:)
You know ar, i've been at this old town kopitiam near my house almost every weekend. And i practically know everyone - though not by name. Hahahaha. I simple have to sit and not even say a word and walla, my drink is here. Lol.
Apart from that - year end is coming - which means that i have to age again. I really am not fond of growing old at all. It's just so much trouble to grow old and wither and not be the same. Plus the bones tend to creak more - my back will give way much faster - and i no longer have good eyesight - so when i say that you look horrid - i'm not being mean k? :)
Enough of the rants really. Do be in peace..er.. or become a politician and earn a peace prize in a record 6 months! Yes. Hahahaha. Now my aspirations of being a politian is peaked - but i need to learn how to speak tamil first. =P
And as the Mattel people always say, "Have a Great Week!"
Cheers!

Deepavali Post
Week 10 already!!! Amazing stuff really:) You know no matter what those sakais keep saying about having more variety and balance of races in your company - it's simple really, every industry has their experts and it doesn't really boil down to races. You see, Mattel is predominantly chinese in nature - there is no doubt about that, but the thing is - our warehouse people have quite a number of Indians, and the stores that we supply, well - they have a lot of Malays. So how's that for racial integration?
See, the thing is there is no such thing as a fully well balanced company - especially in industries such as manufacturing and plantation - but the great thing is - along the line from where a product comes from to the moment where it is sold - it would have been passed along in the hands of every other race in Malaysia. It's a beautiful thing really.
And now, to you people out there - Happy Deepavali especially to my friends, and the people i work with especially those at the warehouse. Hope you have a blast and safe one. And watch those calories! ( =
Truth is, i have been eating in office. Yup, i'm guilty. Hahahaha. I couldn't leave my desk due to tonnes of work - it's been rather hectic. And boss offered no comfort to me - he told me that this is nothing compared to November due to the christmas sales. Now if i weren't a catholic - i would have cursed those nimbling nuts for celebrating a birthday on such a large scale. Hahahaha. Just kidding.
Anyways, here's my declaration - i'm cooking pork rendang and pork ponte for Jas' pot luck thing. Though it will be in quite the small portions, as i'm only looking to feed myself, Mie, Jas and her housemates. So, no, i won't be coming for the dinner itself - due to me being "anti-social" as some may say - but i will be there for lunch, with the two said dishes. So let me know if you want in - i won't be cooking extra, or rather i cook extra also useless cause Jas would have gobbled it up. Let me know la ar, if you want to makan - Warning though: for those who have makaned my mom's cooking - it won't quite be the same, mom said that she won't be helping out much in the cooking cause she's busy....so expect my cooking to be about 50% of her cooking, which is still roughly about 1902389123781% better than Mei's cooking. Hahahaha.
And anyway enough about rambling about food. Oh Food. Char kuey teow at Tmn Desa today. Haiyo. I was there earlier - second time already la i smelt this awesome char kuey teow. But today i already had lunch before i went there, so i was debating whether to go makan or not...debate debate...then.. the uncle close shop d. Shit! Hahahaha. Oh well, there's always another time right? *fingers crossed*
Oh, you know now at work, they don't bother asking me if i want cakes or cookies d. Which is quite disturbing. Simply because, they will just put it on my desk. Hahahhahaha. One day i just balik from the washroom, and there were cookies on my table. Then the other time, i was told there's cake in the pantry la, i said i will go take it later. Miss supervisor took a slice (a big one no less) and put on my desk. Hahahahaha.
This conspiracy to get me fattened up isn't going to work, but i was too lazy to explain to them why. So i just left it at that - besides, who in their right minds would complain if food magically appears on their desks? ( =
And to Agi, i'm so sorry i didn't go your open house today. I know. I'm horrible at directions la. Hahahahaha. I dont know street names and such. Yes, i would have better luck finding china than getting to rawang - no matter the directions that are given to me. Unless i was following someone there - there is no way i could go. Lol. And for years, i didn't know where the SPRINT highway was, until i realized that i have used it on numerous occasions. Hahahahhaa.
Fine, "ejek" me all you want k? Lol. Anyways - have a great week - i'll be back next week with more nonsense:)
Cheers!

Bloody Annoying.
You know, there isn't much a boon in being a thin person. Honestly. You get jeered more than people who aren't. Which annoys me even more - just because i'm thin doesn't mean i chose to be that way, it's the same with people who aren't k? Be a little bit more considerate. Lol. End of rant. Actually not yet end la, the thing is since i'm on the lighter side of the weighing scale - means that i can't refuse anything that the office people bring to work.
All sorts of cheesecakes (which seem to be the fav thing to bake there), cookies and such - is put in front of me and i have no reason to not accept them. Die i tell you. Once i did try, and you know what the retort was?
"You on diet ar, don't go on diet la, you so thin also diet, then we how?"
Hahahaha. How? I dont know how! Don't ask me. Have to take the cake lo then. Lol.
So there was a bday celeb in office. I thought they did individual ones wan, but see see, month of Oct one shot. I have no idea why. Boss asked me when was my bday, i told him that passed already - which is true la, passed so many times d. Hahahahhaa. Shit. Now have to go cover my ass and talk to the HR manager to leave me out of this. Maybe there won't be one - since i'm an intern and all, but still skeptical. Thought of taking leave during my bday wan - but now it won't be effective also and would only waste my leave.
Anyway, I have a message for you kids out there who ask your parents to fetch you - please don't keep them waiting k? I was waiting at the lrt station for mie la, opposite this mall, where i parked and i sat on the sidewalk la - cause yes, i bodoh bodoh came super early. Then got this uncle who parked his waja behind my car, and sat on the sidewalk also la. And lo and behold - after an hour, he was still there, but he's sleeping. In my mind i was like "CRAP, what if i leave before this uncle does?". So i kept an eye out for him la - it was getting rather late already.
Then wait and wait - lucky he got phone call and left just mins before i did. Phew. If not i *might* have stayed with him until he gets his passenger. But i didn't go purposely intro myself or anything - so he might have thought of me as one of the prospective robbers instead. Hahahahaha.
And oh, had dept lunch this week. Wanna know why we suddenly got dept lunch? Cause boss saw the other dept got dept lunch, then he also want to do dept lunch. The other dept had reason - mourn the departure of an employee and celebrate the coming of a new one. Hahahahaha. I mean what the hell right? On a whim only. But free lunch - not complaining one bit:)
And the other day finally Ah Boy's track set came la. Damned funny la he. A little intro - he loves fried fish - like cannot peel him away from it wan. So he was enjoying his treat when i came home la. Saw me carrying a plastic bag and straight rushed at me with this very happy grin.
"Ko-ko" *smile*
Stupid konon innocent smile. Hahahaha.
Then he put his grubby hands on the box. Mom straight scold him - cause his hands oily ma from eating the fish. Then ok lo, i ma take out the box from the plastic and put in front of him la. He stare like some professor staring at a math question like that. Hahahahaha. Straight wanna play wo. Mom asked him to finish up his fish first - and for the very first time in history, he said he don't want the fish d. Hahahahaha. Bloody hell.
Anyway, called his mom to ask if can open the box to assemble the track set la. She said she was downstairs d wo, say bring home fix - then mom gave the phone to boy for his mom to tell him off la.
"Mommy, track. open ar? plisss. can open ar. Yes. ok"
Hands the phone back to mom.
His mom told my mom, she actually said no. Hahahahaha. No choice, open lo. Hahahahaha.
Then open, pour out the contents, then see see need batt and there's none provided. Can see his face change terus tau. Hahahaha. I said to mom that just use the batts inside dad's torchlight la (no spare ma at home). Then i start assembling la, or tried to. He kept taking away the parts.
His mom came, and she was like "aiyo". Lol. She helped me assemble with Ah Boy in our faces, taking up parts and pretending like it's this and that. One part he took, and exclaimed it was a traffic light. Which the track didn't have and it did not look like a traffic light at all!
Finally got the track set up la - turn on only, it was the 360 track set la, it was moving at light speed lo. Hahahaha. Even i was suprised. Boy couldn't follow the movements of the car at all. Hahahahaha. He just stared at the one part of the track only. Finally switched it off, and guess what - i carried the track to Boy's house in the other block. Hahahahaha. Luckily there weren't any kids that gawked at us while we passed the playground. =P
When i reached the house - first time go ma, boy wanted to give me tour of the house and show me his toys. Hahahahaha. Tak semangat layan. Also, he said wanna bring the track tomorrow to show uncle, cause my dad tak nampak his track lagi. That one i don't know if he did ask his mom to bring the track to my house.
OK, enough of that. Boss gave me a project to do - improve the order processing he says. You know ar, a rookie like me ar to perfect a system that has existed and been perfected countless times ar - i have no idea how to. But i will most definately give it a shot. Hahahaha.
That's it for this week folks.
Cheers!
Note : To whomever who wants to organize a suprise party for whomever ar, please don't email me - i take forever to reply wan. actually i take exactly one week to reply. Hahahahaha.
Happy belated bday Jaspattay - hope you enjoyed your suprise party:)

The KFC Deal
I survived! Yay. It was an extraordinary week. Because the warehouse was closed earlier in the week, and was only open on friday. Hahahaha. So had to rush like crazy on friday - hit six figures worth of orders. Ok fine, so i wasn't the one who made those sales happen, but i am in charge of moving the stuff along:)
Anyways, this week boss had me rummagging thru C4982's. That's the hotwheels basic car. Something about toy safety and Sirim and the Government regulation that required him to submit samples - but needed to clarify the whole process first. So needed the Hotwheels cars as samples. And guess what - i went thru roughly 10 or so boxes full of those basic cars in the reception area.
one box = 72 units = 720 units that were on display in the mattel reception area. Lol. The funny part was, everyone who passed by thought i was just messing around. Hahahahaha. I had a mission k? Find the same car design but in different colours. And trust me, it wasn't a very easy job. After the 200th car i saw, i was basically blurred out. Lol.
Steve came in for interview at Mattel. Didn't do too well. Hope he gets thru though. Real sakai la he. If you want details, ask him k? I'm not the type to air dirty laundry out to dry. Hahahaha.
And oh, there's an airshow going on at Subang TUDM - i think it's the Aussie jets. They have been practising ya know - near my office. Quite alarming la, cause they sounded like they were really really close by. One of the bosses was asked what she would do if one of the jets were to crash into the building. And she said
"I don't think i would jump lo - i'm very afraid of height wan. I rather get burnt alive"
I couldn't stop laughing - but i did had to laugh discreetly. Hahahahaha.
And i kena remarked by Kak Supervisor yesterday. She was talking to one of the finance people, when the finance person said this about me
"Nampak macam dia buat banyak kerja ar, selalu busy aje"
You know what Kak Supervisor said (albet with a very wicked grin)
"Ala, dia pura-pura sibuk aje"
LOL. what the hell? Hahahhaa. Busy k? Sometimes not la, but at that time quite busy k?
And oh the title refers to this very charming couple that me and Mie met at KFC, they offered us this coupon for less the value. And i bought it. They so cute la. Hahahaha. When i grow old, i wanna go sell coupons at KFC also:)
They said that they get coupons from friends and all sorts of meetings that they go to. And when mie went to the restroom, they kept on talking to me - telling me about those good old days when food was only 5 cents:) Very lovely people. I wish them well, and a whole load of goodwill. Now give me your KFC coupons! Hahahahhaha.
And oh, i almost forgot. Deepavali coming soon. So invite me k? Doesn't matter if you're chinese or malay or "lain-lain". Hahahahaha. But i do have to stress that i will not travel more than 20km from my house. =P
Oh oh - one more story. You know that Malaysia was hit with the tremors right? Apparently, my mom didn't feel a thing, and neither did the kids. When i came home, everyone was standing outside the apt, i thought maybe power outage la. See See tremors. The funny thing was, my next door neighbour, this very jolly man had this to say
"I tengah duduk atas lantai la, makan maggi mee - watching tv. Suddenly my maggi mee bowl started to move away from me - i pun shocked la, then everything started shaking jugak. Phone i pun jatuh" and he added this for good effect
"Nasib baik maggi mee saya tak tumpah".
Hahahahahaha. I tell you, Malaysians and their food ar. There was this one story some time back, a bunch of people was eating at this roadside stall, they saw this car coming real fast at them la - you know what they saved ar? Their bowls of assam laksa. The owner of the stall only walked away with his soup scoop. Lol. I tell you ar... Hahaahahha. (not sure if it was assam laksa and a soup scoop, but definately whatever that they were eating la)
Anyways,
Cheers!

Title.
This week, horrid. Loads of crap happening. And more crap awaits on Monday. Haish. Anyway, there was a funny point to the madness. Here's the situation, there's a sample product due to be delivered to the office, and everything was out, the order, the invoice all of it - but the product never show. So after a short frantic search around the office, finally had to refer to the warehouse to as whether the product actually was delivered.
After an email sent, here was the conversation between me and the warehouse boss:
Me : Boss, got this one sample order that never made it to the office la, can you check whether it was sent, or we just lost it in the office?
W.B : OK, will get my people to check on it later.
Me : Can send Monday morning ar?
W.B: Why? Urgent is it? Can can, if we can find out what's the problem - i'll get it delivered Monday morning.
Me : Oh, we need it for a photoshoot, the photographer coming in the afternoon to pick it up.
W.B : Oh. Can can. I will ask my driver to make-up a bit also so he can take picture.
Hahahahahaha. Yes, i was laughing out loud in the office and practically everyone stared at me. At least it was a good way to end the weekend.
Next week, store's closed. At least virtually. And there's a short window of time on Monday before we're closed for inventory check, routine stuff. The thing is though - i will be super swamped. Actually had to leave late on Friday to clear out a whole stack of orders. No, it's not fun - it's just frantic actually.
That all aside, i need a hair-cut. Which i will have, after this post is posted. And oh, today ah boy was in the house. He asked me to buy him a track wo. What the hell? He said "the track ar, round and round and round (X1231times)" while he himself spinning around. Damned funny nut. And he pronounces "dinosaur" as "disonaur". I got him to try pronouncing it the right way, but after a few tries, he smiled this wicked smile - and ran off. Hahahaha. Shit.
Jas is off touring Europe. Apparently going to meet PC as well. I have no idea, i though she's coming back, albeit for a while - and texting europe isn't cheap wei. Shit. To those people i know in Europe - sorry la, i'm just a lowly intern earning not too much and i really really dont have the resources to text you, let alone call. For those in America - lagi la sorry. Lol.
Anyways, that's it i guess. Just that i can't discuss the crap that happenedat work, and it took up so much of the week - and a chunk of my life. Hahahaha. But it's all good now (i hope). You people take care now.
Cheers!

The one with the tiny furry animals
Liquid Nitro is cheaper than milk.
It is. Apparently, we take quite a number of "facts" for granted. OK, so this time, i will be talking about animal cruelty - in support of that indie (is it indie?) movie coming up about those dolphin killing thingie.
See, killing dolphins are wrong. Period. Ok, done.
What grouse i have is with the people who are so adamant about the other stuff that goes about. You know, campaign-hopping, as i would call it. They just hop on the bandwagon on certain "hot" campaigns and think that they're doing a world of good. What would be better if they had actually stuck to the first campaign they signed up for and see it thru.
It's like this, imagine you're building a house, and everyday one volunteer is supposed to bring a brick for the house. So you have a thousand people signed up and they're supposed to supply stuff in a timely manner. So this campaign is highly hyped and publicized, so you go ambitious and make plans for a super huge house (to house whatever it is that you're housing). Then slowly, bit by bit, people stop contributing, and you're stuck with a half built house, which could have been halved in size and completed.
So here goes, if you are going to play missionary - go get it done k? ( =
And a great thank you to whatever that you have contributed to mankind - and anything and any animals etc.
Another grouse. Yes, very grouse-y this week. My internal body clock is going haywire. And tomorrow's work day. Darn. And oh oh, Toys "R" Us is going to do this halloween promotion, so yea, if you're as kiddish as i am, which i am - and should be, considering; then you should go check it out. And no, i don't know what they are planning and no i don't have free stuff to give away. LOL. Burn this into your brains k? ME = INTERN = No benefits for you.
Back to the first word of the post, did i mention that i saw the MiTo and the Fiat 500 Abarth the other day? I want. Honestly. But the MiTo more than the Fiat 500, mainly because as a Milan fan, i cannot justify my yearnings for the Fiat 500, because the people who owns Fiat, owns a chunk of Juve. And it's quite the unwritten rule that...let me put it this way -
One AC Milan fan, one Inter Milan fan and one Juventus fan was on a deserted island. Now, there was the ship named SS ROMA which passed by and said that they would only carry two people onboard to safety, but they had to leave the other behind, and there's no telling how long they would take to come back for the last person. So these three fans decided to cast votes to vote for the person that would stay behind.
Guess what, both Milanese clubs fans voted for Juve:) And the Juve voted for the Inter fan, mainly cause they keep losing to them:)
So you know, i can't, it's a club thing. I know Milan is playing like a bunch of rug-rats at the moment (exception when they grinded out the 1-0 win at the weekend), but hey, like a person once said, there are no divorcing the club that you support - and make sure all your loves are in different countries. Hahahaha.
Which brings me to the issue of pets. I know. Pets can be quite the sakais. Dad's fishes got temper wan, if not fed, they'll jump here and there (though quite smart not to jump out of the tank la) to gain your attention to feed them. And they know wan when you're going to feed them - bring out the fish food bottle only, will be still and wait at the surface. Sakai. Imagine if i had a dog, that fella would have dragged out the kitchen table chair, sat on it with fork and spoon in tow.
Anyways, that's it. I might post a weekly Mattel job post this weekend - but maybe only. Not sure wan. Don't count on it - i have already filled my quota this month, and i don't care if it's a 5 week month. Hahahahahaha.
Cheers!

Kapal Angkasa Cobra
It's funny how people seem genuinely astonished at other people's kindness. I know, old story, last post also got. but i read this column in the Sun a few days ago, and it shocked me that the writer (who most probably took the public transport for the first time) is amazed that people actually help blind people to their destinations, give up their seats, and also prevent people from falling off the bus - apparently the last one is because the person doing the saving is a foreigner. What i have to say is... well, nothing actually. Good for the writer to see these things. Please don't forget to lock your door at night though.
Today, got a nyonya (a real wan, trust me, i can tell), gestured me to take up the seat next to hers. Lol. What the hell? I appreciated her kindness - but unfortunately i had to decline, i was at my stop at the time. Did i look all that awkward bumbling about in the bus? Do i look that uncomfortable? I was wearing these baggy pants with a tee somemore, hahaha. If i was wearing formal, then maybe i'd look out of place.
Anyway, i ter-bumped into a uni mate of mine. So Shocked k? Saw her kat the lrt - but i didnt say anything la - i kan rabun a bit after work, if mistaken identity kantoi. Then we got off same stop. Then she was like Hi and How are you. Coincidence? Yup, definately. Hahaha. I'm not a stalker k? I use that route everyday k? OK, maybe not everyday - minus weekends la. ( =
This week at Mattel. It's crazy. Now i'm in charge of Singgie - for ten days. Yesterday went smoothly - thank god. And today, well..today they cuti. Not fair right? Hahahaha. We should be having more holidays than they do cause ya know. Anyways, no complains though, i'm off Monday and Tuesday!
And i would like to take this opportunity to wish the Muslim community
"Selamat Hari Raya. Maaf Zahir dan Batin".
Tada!
Anyways, staff purchase, bought Ah Boy a set of five hot wheels. Apparently he loved it so much. Actually his parents ask me buy wan la. And the father - amazed that it's so cheap - now wants me to buy a track set for him. Lol. Track set for boy = disaster for human-kind, particularly the people who so happens to be right outside the apt window when the car goes flyin.
Which reminds me - kalau nak contribute, contribute k? I malas wanna copy paste d. Plus red text is so not good for the skin of this blog. Lol.
Why only a set of 5 tiny cars you ask? Well, i pinjam the parents the catalogue la, so his dad ask him to choose what he wants, you know what he did? Pointed to everything, and ask his dad to buy. Sakai. So kecik also like that. Lol. His dad told him, only can get a few la, he "insisted" to have it all. So his dad got pist, and bought him only the 5 pack. Lol. Padan muka. Hahahaha.
At work, Kak went cuti, thus the Singgie take-over. And boss super busy, got super loads of shipments coming in for the year end punya christmas sales. So now he no time to even go makan. =P
Mus - that day i thought i saw you kat LRT station, but i didn't had my glasses on la, so not sure. but then up close, i nampak muka already, i thought "If Mus make up macam mana pun, takkan so pretty kut". LOL. OK, i'm evil. Sue me. =P
Jas, i know you coming back to do your visa and pack your bags and to smuggle your dog to Europe. Thank you for everything. and Take care k? *sobs* And stop leaving comments kat chat box, told you, i cannot nampak kat office, it's blocked. Lol.
And one last thing to share, yesterday when i was taking the delivery of the staff purchase (super banyak), i felt like the supermarket punya warehouse fella. Dahla tired d moving stuff, my colleague came up to me and ask "Richard, come help me carry the stuff to my cubicle." I look at her with pity face, then she laughed. "I paid 300 rm for these stuff ya know, transport to my cubicle only ma". Yes, they love teasing the person with the most amount of work for the day. Hahaha.
And one more moment of antagony. When the Singgie order came in via email, my boss looked at it, and laughed at me. Totally what the hell moment. Hahaha. At that time also i was swamped d k? All in a week's work i guess.
Last note : take care, be safe during the hols. Have fun:)
Cheers!
P.S. David - i asked Mei to email you the url d.

Cham Peng = 1/5 tea, 3/5 coffee, 1/5 ice.
Week five only ar? Lol. Anyways, I saw John Wong at the lrt the other day, seems like he's doing well. Good for him, and whoever else who is doing well. *nonsensical i know*
And the week starts off easy. I think. I had Monday off cause of something for which i don't even recall. And oh oh, two days off for raya next next week. So nice - they puasa, i cuti. Thank you for your sacrifice. I know i know, people don't puasa for the cuti. Must i be politically correct each time?
Anyways, same old same old lo for the past few days. Oh, i forgot to mention this:
Whoever who says our kids lack respect, please drive a screw into your eyeball now.
The other day i was in the bus from the lrt to my house la. So..got la not so young people came in at the next stop. So, i ma gave up my seat lo, and no it's not because of the late Yasmin's advert, i have always done that. And lo and behold, at the next stop, 4 other people gave up their seats - that may be contributed by Yasmin la. Lol. But hey, not all of us are rotten k? :)
Anyways, i have to mention this. People. Dont suddenly break into a dance move while waiting for the lrt. Lol. You are scaring the people into thinking you're having an episode of epilepsy. Especially when you don't even have your mp3 player with you. Hahahaha.
And today, Friday, i half day. So i ma lengang a bit la - work almost done d, only left the updating and sending the listing to the 3pl (3rd party logistics). And at 11.45am, boss suddenly turns to one of supervisors and asks:
"Kak, i boleh ambik richard pergi ikut saya pergi 3pl meeting tak?".
LOL. Like i'm the pet or something. All of us laughed la, then kak said yes, ambik ambik.
Boss turns to me, wicked smile, and says, you must finish up everything by 12. Want to leave already. I was like...shit. ahahaha. Then somehow la - i did everything twice as fast, then ikut him go to the 3pl's tempat at Klang. Boss drove la. Then in the Klang area there, he looking looking, says he forgot where's the place wor.
I thought he forgot where the warehouse was..see see forgot where the restaurant was. Lol. My first "business lunch". The place was good, and the food was great, and apparently according to the warehouse boss,
"The mango juice is very nice, like a virgin girl".
You can imagine how the entire meeting was la. Hahahahahahaha. Funny people. All together got like 13 people from 3pl, and only 2 people from Mattel, namely me and boss la. then after lunch, site visit wo. Boss wanted me to see the warehouse. It's huge. Very huge. And there's two somemore. There's quite a lot i can't divulge cause i don't deem it right to be revealed, so i shall leave it at that.
Then had an update meeting on the performances, the warehouse boss explained to me what was what and which was which. He's a very nice, and bloody funny. Hahahaha. Boss drove us back to office for me to pick up my stuff then dropped me off at the lrt.
So here i am again, blogging for your pleasure. I have noticed a bunch of sakais who just post a couple pictures of wrecks, and others quote poetry at length, and others who just don't bother blogging at all. Here i am imploring you all not to be so critical of my blog k? at least i blog k? and it's almost always more than 100 words:) Hahahahaha. And oh oh, don't comment on the side bar, i can't access it at work - it's blocked. So if nak comment, please comment the proper way.
And Jas - i akan kutip rm10 from you soon. Lol. If you ever come back from Norway la. And for a reminder, i akan copy paste from last week's post.
Cheers people!
I've got something planned for my bday this year. So i'm imploring you all to save up at least RM10 to donate to get me what i want for this year:) It involves a charitable cause and it's by no way benefitting me except for the satisfaction of having helped others. Details below:
Target :
A charity home for kids who have got no place to go, and no it's not RUMAH HOPE!, that place got a lot of sponsors d. It's this tiny shelter near where i used to live.
Proposed Budget:
RM400 - i will be chipping in at least RM50 - so the rest, you guys fill-up la. Why RM400? Cause of...below
Items:
Toys. More specifically, Mattel products. I have decided that since i am not going to use the staff purchase allowance every month, i might as well put it to a good cause. So i would have amassed RM400 by december.
Why?
Toys because i have the distinct privilege of buying them on the cheap. I would gladly give up the money to get any other stuff for the kids if you have special access to cheap books or other materials - but this cause will be focused on toys. Plus it's christmas, you sure you wanna give books for christmas to small kids ar?
*For more details, that would have to wait, i need to go have a little chat with the supervisor of the place to find out - maybe some other items are more needed. Plus there is the need to find out specifically what age range the kids are at. And their preference.
And there will be no assurance that i will give that i have delivered the goods - mainly cause it'll be a Santa Claus operation - drop and don't wait around to see and take photos and stuff - i hate those people who glamourize their givings.
SO, here goes. Please save up maybe twenty cents a day, and there would be plenty to spare. I would be posting this every week in my weekly posts until the first week of december - in order to help me give them a lovely Christmas. If you intend to buy me a gift, please wire in the money to me instead. Thank you.

Use Somebody.
Actually this is more like my daily report thing that i have to do for my internship. So when i do need to do it, i would just browse through my previous posts and *try to* remember what i did that was significant that week, so i have something to write home about. Lol. Which is nothing much to shout about la.
Anyway, this week got to participate in the staff purchases, meaning go check stock and make sure everything is there lo. I felt like a warehouse fella at some departmental store. Hahahaha. But my goodness, the amount of toys the people bought, amazing. And so nice to know that you helped them purchase all of them:)
Last week, nothing eventful happen la. Same old Same old. Boss got no time to sit down with me to give me a project to do for my internship (I know! got such thing wan, give you project to do during internship!), which would be good when i go for my next interview:
Interviewer : So, what did you do during your internship at Mattel?
Me : Well, i sit at the office desk everyday, banging on the keyboard till lunch, then go lunch, then come back and sort out some files, then go home. everyday for the past six months.
Hahahahaha. Instead i could say this:
Interviewer: So tell me, what were your responsibilities at Mattel?
Me : I was put in charge of all the purchases of Mattel products in Malaysia, making sure that orders were processed, and setting straight any awry orders - making sure that they get delivered. Also, i was given a project "*Insert project name here*" to do which helped in boosting "*Insert boosted numbers here*".
Sound more *WAH* right? Yup,i thought so. But first Boss has to find time to figure out what to give me to do. The other day, when i had really really nothing to do, and i asked him if he's got anything for me, he looked at the time (got la 15 or so mins left, but i did come in early that day), then he looked around and said,
You can go. Quietly. *with a smirk on his face*
Haish, if Boss not so busy with the SIRIM certification, it'd be much easy going. Yup, now all the toys sold in Malaysia would have to be SIRIM certified. Not exactly have to la, but it does give your company the edge:)
And oh oh. Today cuti wo. Selangor something something. Yes, i know! So nice wan. Hahahaha. Then got another two more public hols (not sure if it's raya or what) later in the month. Macam tak kerja only. And possibly, i will be the only intern left in Mattel, the other is leaving d. Sad right? Now like i'm the only "Budak" there. Hahahaha.
This Friday half day lo. Ok. Good. I Shall try my best to finish up everything and enjoy my very first official half day off! Wish me luck k? And oh, new regime: I won't be driving until next year. Yup. No behind the wheels action - unless super emergency. Everyone is baffled. Those who know the reason - you know la. For those who don't - just put it down to me saving the environmnent. Lol. JK.
My schedule will be like this then:
5.20 - wake up
5.50 - walk to bus stop
6.20/30 - Bus mari
6.50 - reach the lrt station
7.10 - reach the lrt destination
7.20 - bus pergi office
8.00 - sampai office.
Hahahahaha. YES! It's true. I even bought a bus pass for september d! Now all i need is more songs to put inside my mp3 player. =P
And last note

Of moviestars and the drain.
Boss didn't come back yet. Yup, on holiday. So we slaved on without him. Things were quite uneventful, with the most of the craziness coming from the fact that i might have misplaced some documents, which luckily, weren't misplaced, just merely not in my hands at the moment. They were found K?!
And my second time handling staff sales. Yup, deadline's on the 2nd of the next month. Usually have it at the mid and ending of each month. Since it's our daddy's bday this end of the month, which we happily will celebrate, so the deadline got pushed to next month. I haven't used up my quota for the month yet, apparently, it can be pushed back. And no mus, i'm not buying barbies for you, unless you pay me to. =P
So yea lo. Almost one month gone, five more to go. I have a sneaky feeling that it will finish super fast. Some days seem longer than most, but it'll go away quick enough. And *fingers crossed* that i secure a long term career before i grad next year. Yup, though i have finished my studies, graduation date is still long way to go. Hahahaha.
Anyways, Mie is super impressed with how the Mattel staff treats their interns. Which is true la. The other day, the finance intern left cause ended d his time, and the head of finance dept gave the head of licencensing dept money to belanja all of us makan. Lol. Conversation at the elevator:
Richard, where you going? Going makan ar?
Yup, you guys going makan also?
M*** leaving today, come, join us.
*Looks around, then take out wallet, pitiful amount in it*
*laughs* No money la, have to go bank take.
Never mind. Come only. Licensing paying.
And half the office went makan. For two hours. At some very fancy Dim Sum restaurant. hahahaha. Basically everyone from each dept was represented la. Sales, finance, logistics, licensing. So nothing got done while we were out eating. Which there wasn't much to be done anyway considering that it's Friday. Friday like really no work wan wo. No wonder half days twice a month.
Crazy wan really. When i arrived, i got treated to a very nice japanese lunch. Super crazy expensive wan k? Rm300 for 4 people. Shit. Then now when M*** (i can't say his name) left, we all got treated to such nice lunch also. Wonder what i will get when i leave. Char Kuey Teow? I can only hope:)
Then next week, almost the entire sales team going to HK. I don't know if it's a conference, or some toy convention, but it's for five days, tickets paid for and you get my monthly salary for allowance. Which is awesome. Apparently, every year also the sales team have to travel here there wan. Nice ar, being in sales. ( =
Filing here in the office is crazy. Invoices and delivery orders and purchase orders have to be filled. Which roughly translate to 1 and a half boxes of staples gone in three weeks. Lol. I have never used so many staples in that short span since i learnt that you can shoot the staples right out of the stapler and started to shoot everyone. Hahaha. Bloody lots of staples k?
I cannot stress enough just how nice the people are here! I feel that i'll be growing super complacent and get lazy and refuse to improve myself. Not to fear! Next year i shall embark on my CFA adventure. Wish me luck. Need to save up some dough first though.
So be good people. And Happy merdeka to each and everyone of you:)
Cheers!

Finally.
I'm undergoing an internship at Mattel, 6 months, at the lower end of four figures a month. Not a bad deal. But honestly, i don't think i could stay on after that period of time, simply because i don't think there's much a progress in terms of rank due to the fact that it's a super tiny office - maybe 30 people or so, taking care of the entire South East Asia region. Talk about down-sizing.
Anyway, yea, i would have to murder someone in order for me to stay in the company. Oh well, i gave up on the hopes of being a criminal a long long time ago. Now i have a cubicle, a desktop, a barbie-covered access card, an official mattel email, and also the entire Malaysia's requirements of Mattel products under my fingers. Yea i know, what were they thinking putting an intern in charge of a whole country's needs? *Dont screw up Richard*
Perks of the job? I can name a few, let me list them out.
1. Free parking.
Well, not quite la, i haven't gotten my staff parking sticker, so i'm still illegally parked. And though i can pay for parking and claim it at the end of the month, i'm not exactly thrilled to pay RM10 a day. So please pray that sticker gets on the car windshield soon.
2. Free coffee. But it's nescafe. So, free - but quite unwanted.
3. Staff purchase!
Yes, i get to get Mattel stuff on the cheap. There's a limit though - but i have been eyeing that elmo for quite some time already. Hahahahaha.
4. Friday half day off twice a month.
Yup. Though so far, i have stayed back due to unexpected workload. Intern ya know, work them as much as possible. Malaysia very hard to take care of wan le.
5. Wear what you want.
Hahahaha. Not exactly. You can wear collared tees, and long pants any day of the week, and it's jeans day on friday. I usually wear shirts&slacks mon-weds, polo's and slacks on thurs, and jeans on friday. Gradually dressing down ya know.
6. Leave on time.
Basically, they would chase you out of office. Especially me. Cause i no key to lock up. So i kena halau to go back. Like yesterday, 2pm already halau me d.
"Richard, you still here ar? Ok pack your things, and save all your work, i wanna go back d, and you no key right? Aiya, today half day you work so much for what?"
LOL.
7. Nice people.
I mean like really nice people. They're like your extended family or something. So weird wan. And half of them are so polite, and the other half so funny, you can't fault them for anything.
Now for the bad news.
1. Workload.
I don't get out of my chair from 8.30 - 12.30 due to work, everyday. Then i go lunch. I go lunch, feel like going to plop my face into my food. =P
2. Filing.
Naturally, filing comes with the territory. But there's just a tonne of them. It's not that i'm complaining that there's a lot to file - i'm just worried i get tonnes of papercuts. Hahaha.
So that's about it lo. At least i dont have to wory about finding a job till next year - hopefully employment would be much easier then. ( =
That's about it folks. Tell me how you guys have been doing alright? And if you still have any childhood dreams of building your own hot wheels super track or stacking your closet full of barbies, or whatever other childhood fantasy that demands mattel toys - let me know:)
Cheers!

I need a new title
Ok, i'm now officially a bum living out of my parent's house. I am still unemployed. But it helps to know that jas makes employment sounds like hell, but it's not much comfort! Lol. Yes, currently rotting at home, with zero stuff to do. I know i would dread the day that i start work, and basically there's only two more interviews to go (hopefully, there's only one for IBM)
Anyways,How have you people been? I have a confession to make here and i dedicate this to an old friend of mine. Here goes
"You and i, have been together for the past 6,7 years - and boy, were they fun times. So much we have sacrificed for the cause, and so much blood and tears and sweat. We endured so much, the falls were admittedly more than that of the tears of joy that should have been.
The greed that caused you to go, i know it's not your fault, it never is. I had hoped that you would always be around, ya know, to lift everyone's spirits, to make sure that no one falls down - but i know there are forces at work that none of us can stop no matter how hard we tried.
I can only wish you the best, and hope that we grow stronger in your absence, that everything will be alright. I know there are a few that has been tempted, and with you leaving, they would never be the same. I do hope that they will not be lured away the way that you did.
Adios, Kaka. There will never be a 22 quite the same as you.
And to you, MR President. I know times are bad, and i know that money isn't easy to come by, and 60+million euros is a huge sum. But do know that there's only so much we can handle. Italians may have the patience, but do note that AC Milan isn't some backwater club that sells her players on a whim. I, now, put forth a few pleas,
1. Don't let Pato leave.
2. Kick out seedorf, ambro and sheva.
3. Get someone to partner Silva.
4. Don't hope for Beckham to save us (again) next Febuary.
5. Buy the Frenchman. Ribery, not Trezenogoals.
6. Give Leonardo your full support, like how we would.
forza milan.
Cheers!

Interview Questions
1. Shell Interview
Look, i didn't get past the initial interview but here's what the initial interview was like (i can't put forth the real questions, but i can give you a general description). They will ask you on Life experiences. Yup. Nothing apart from that. Just how you have been in leadership roles, and how you handle yourself in certain sticky situations.
And then you will be given 4 questions, where you choose one, and elaborate on it. Think wide and big people. Say "If the company is doing THIS but want to venture into THAT, how would you proceed". Think fast, you have approx. 20 seconds to start talking:) Then it's all done.
2. IBM Interview.
Lol. Technically i haven't been to a face-to-face interview yet, but there i did go through an impromptu telephone interview beforehand. The usual stuff "Why do you want to join IBM?", "What are your plans if you get in?", and "What do you bring to the company?". Standard stuff. Then there will be two aptitude tests, one more skewed to reasoning, and the other more towards math. If you pass both, you'll be where i am now, waiting for that one last interview.
3. CIMB Complete Banker's Programme.
Now this is the kicker. First interview will be a face-to-face interview with the HR, usually max 3 people, and you might go in the interview with another candidate. Questions? The standard ones. But there's a little twist to it. It helps to remember the entire B.O.D, the operations that CIMB conducts, and the subsidiaries of CIMB group. In short, do your homework people. (and to those who aren't in the business line, you'd better have a good answer as to why you wanna do banking)
If you get through, you'll be asked to go to Deloitte Kassim Chan for an aptitude test - iq, spatial recog, math etc. Roughly 400 Questions in one hour. Good luck to you. My advice? Do what you can, and don't cheat. If you do cheat, you will be failed on the spot. This is the second stage.
Then if you pass it (my second stage results took a month to arrive), you'll be asked to present a presentation, the topic will be emailed to you probably one or two days beforehand, mine came in today. It'll be before 3 people, namely 2 from HR and one senior director (i think). You'll have 15 mins. Wish me luck. As for the topic, it'll be something you learn in your finance class, so don't fret. It's useless for me to tell you the topic as it would vary. This is the third stage.
The fourth stage, if you pass, would be a face-to-face interview with Puan Hamidah, Head Group Resources (maybe), with a few others. They'll see if you are suitable, then you get in:) There are 4 intakes in a year, March, July, Sept and entah. Lol. But they interview all year long.
4. Sunway's SMART Programme.
First, would be a phone interview. Please do not screw this one up, cause there's a tonne of applicants, and only so many places offered. Just some general questions about yourself, then they'll invite you for the face-to-face interview if they like you:)
Then, face-to-face interview. It's kinda like shell's, just getting to know you better. They'll ask some questions that they think people should know about SUNWAY, so once again, please do your homework. They will call you back if they like you:)
It will be a whole day group assessment next. 3 different business games, and at least one presentation in one of them. So be alert. Once again, it's useless to tell you exactly what they do there, cause it varies. But i do know they will feed you breakfast and Lunch at their Sunway Resort and Spa hotel. So be grateful k? :)
If you pass...then i don't know already. lol.
5. Colgate Trainee.
well, i'm not that knowledgeable in this one. What i know is that, there is a phone interview, then aptitude test, then assessment lo. Hahahaha.
That's about it folks, the 2009 malaysia top job interviews (i think). I did went for another one, but they just asked standard questions and nothing quirky.
Good luck to all of you and to me too.
Cheers!
